Jitka Schejbalova
I am a Czech watercolour and textile artist based in Suffolk, Uk.
My work is the play of the concrete shapes, lines and textures combined with the abstract fluidity and transparency of brightly coloured pigments. I practice the same principles in my textile pieces where I allow the fabric dyeing and printing process to dictate the form and feel of the overall scene.
My inspiration comes primarily from my past travels, visiting exotic places and fascinating cultures, from walks around Suffolk countryside and Uk visits. I let the memories and images sit in my mind, mix with the inner patterns and let the unpredictable water media do the rest.
